Users of Twitter can now chat with Microsoft chatbot called Tay.

Twitter now has another robotic option for its users to avail and have fun. Thanks to Microsoft, the micro blogging site now has a chatbot to talk with users. The robot is named, ‘Tay’, which can be searched on the social media platform by users. The robot consists of artificial intelligence which makes it possible for it to talk to users who send direct messages to it; Microsoft has plans to make this even better in the future.

The social media network never hesitates in shocking people. Now with the AI robot; users will always be entertained even in loneliness: they can always talk to Tay. The robotic account’s official name on the social media platform is TayandYou. Users can visit this account and send messages to it, while it responds with automated replies to all of the tweets. It is not clear as to why Microsoft created this account to begin with, it even has the verified check mark of Twitter.

Microsoft designed Tay, making many heads roll for the plans that the company actually wants to achieve with it. Tay is going to keep users entertained, while enabling them to have funny and casual conversations with a robot. Its official website states that the more users talk to Tay, the smarter this robot will become, personalizing users experience even more, thanks to the AI tech used.

Microsoft research team has manufactured the Al chatbot to make interactions better and reach better understanding of how this can be done. If Twitter Inc users want to try this robot, they have to search for it and chat with it; however for now, public chats are recommended as they are faster in comparison to direct messages. Even if users add any picture, Tay is capable enough of leaving comments on those images with emoticons, ironically.

This technology is not all rainbows and butterflies. As the official website says, the more you talk to Tay, the smarter it gets. It can now be said Tay can get even dumb, since is storing all the tweets and information sent to it without any knowledge of what they mean. It is now tweeting back some racist comments in less than 24 hours. AI is not always good apparently.

The evolution of technology has led to much advancement and companies are striving to capitalize on such advancements by providing benefits to the public in return.
