The company has revealed a new feature for its users, who converse with people, groups especially using pictures or images. Twitter, a social media platform where you share your ideas and expressions using posts with your followers, now allows you to send private pictures amongst your friends and followers in group chats.
The social networking service is now offering two additional features basically for its users: one is feature that is introduced is for capturing, editing and sharing videos from your mobile phone on your feed. Another tool is basically for carrying out private conversations amongst a group of people of your choice only. You can have a group created of maximum 20 people, with whom you can share your images and videos privately.
These new tools are expected to roll out in updates amongst the users in upcoming weeks, according to the product director- Jinen Kamdar, at Twitter. This new feature will allow you to start private media-sharing conversation with anyone on Twitter, and you ne3cessarily don’t have to be following each other in order to initiate the talk.
Kamdar elaborated that Twitter has evolved as an integral part in the social media circus. Following the trend, of sharing private image and video sharing which is supported by Facebook Rooms, Kamdar believes that this unique service will have its own place amongst the Twitter users. “The people you interact with on Twitter—publicly and privately—tend to be people you don’t know in real life,” he claims. “We think that the conversations you have with group DM could only happen on our app.”
The idea of the built-in tool was basically because to overcome the friction that takes place in the proce4ss of uploading, explains Kamdar. They came up with this feature, to make the experience smoother. Initially Twitter allowed you to upload short videos, such as Vines, and allowed you to share direct messages or DM with people in your list. This new feature will ensure the whole idea of social networking complete in its own essence as a mobile app.
The developers claim that this new tool will allow you to upload videos of as long as 30 seconds, unlike Vines which had a cap of 6 seconds.
With these developments, twitter is surely on the move to make advancements in the social media world. In long-run these advancements with trends will definitely justify the rising TWTR stock quote for the investors.
